I stayed also as a semi-getaway alone, taking advantage of the last minute change in work plans. I had no problems with the wifi for work, including video conferences. I stayed here solo, after a work conference was canceled last minute. It's on the softer side, so be aware if you like a firm mattress. The good things were the food (although the wait time to order to go to bring to my room was crazy, almost an hour, and no room service), the outdoor space was nice, and the bed is extremely comfortable. Only had decaf coffee available for the in-room coffee. Dust everywhere, and what I assume is candy behind the headboard, but I'm not about to touch it.

The TV wouldn't connect to the internet, so no streaming like they advertised (and part of the reason why I picked here instead of the holiday inn express across the street) and the TV guide wouldn't update so I had to scroll channel by channel to find put what was on. It didn't drain and the water never got warm. The bathroom shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned, with mold im the grout. For this price you could find something near the water or in downtown Portland with the shops and restaurants. It's across the street from the Maine Mall in South Portland, so location is only good if you're going to the mall. But for the high price tag of this hotel, I would not stay here again.
